Why You Do What You Do: Week 2 Challenge

The Newbie Blogger Initiative is off to an awesome start! I’m already having a hard time keeping up with all of the awesomeness.

Recap Week 1:

Of course, some awesomeness took place right here last week with some great responses to the Build Your Own Boss Challenge. I highly encourage you to check these out:

Week 2 Challenge:

There was a boss for every type of player last week (and you guys did fantastically, by the way). This week we’re going to get a little more introspective and talk about what type of player you actually are.

About a year or so ago (maybe more, now), I discovered a website: Why Do You Do What You Do? The premise is simple: answer the question with a picture. I fell in love with the idea and created a Why We WoW  page on my blog.

I still love the concept, so I’m opening it up again across all genres and games:  Why do you do what you do? Why do you play the way you play, why do you play the game you play? Why are you a healer? Why do you PvP? What keeps you coming back?

This is not limited to pictures–I’d love to see your thoughts on why, exactly, you do what you do in the game(s) that you love. And you can have as many answers as you can come up with. I discover new ones every day!

The Week 2 Challenge is simple. Answer this question: Why do you do what you do?

Make sure you link your blog post to me so I can include it next week!

Glad you liked the soundtrack to my boss, somehow you managed to inspire more musical content in my reply to this challenge…

Hi there! I don’t play WoW myself (tried it once, didn’t get further than level 17), but I just wanted to say that that picture of the dancing druids looks adorable and hilarious at the same time! Good job, it really made me smile.

Your challenges look like fun! Too bad I missed the first one, really loved that topic. Not sure if I’ll get inspiration for this week’s one, but I’ve written it on my long list of things I want to write about. Who knows what will come of it!

Alright, time for me to check out the rest of your blog. 🙂

Feel free to go back and do the BYOB challenge if you want–I was pretty darn impressed with the things everyone came up with, and I’d love to read more!

And these challenges are all for the purpose of inspiration, so even if you tuck it away and come back to it later, it has served its purpose. 😀

(Also, I’ve removed your WordPress trauma. Now to find out what caused it in the first place and see if I can fix it!)

Luckily I’m using pretty okay with inspiration: I got more ideas than I have time to work on them, but I write everything down so I won’t forget it. Usually the idea develops in your brain after a while without even really trying to work on it, so it’s certainly always good to think about everything that inspires you.

Thanks for removing my WordPress trauma :P, I think it’s beyond your control though. I can tell you what happened: I use blogger myself, so I had to leave a comment the old fashioned way (= entering name, e-mail and website manually), but got a popup my e-mail was already in use – apparently because I use the same one for gravatar. It asked me to log in, which I did, but I got the password wrong first and when I made it the second time, it had eaten my post! I then typed it over and tried to post but it said the comment was already made. It didn’t show up though, as it did with another comment I made. I tried 4 times, and apparently it worked 2 of them (but only showed up later). It’s just a very annoying wordpress/gravatar thing you can’t do anything about. I got myself permanently logged in now though, so won’t have any problems personally with replying anymore. 🙂

Ha, thanks Gravatar & WordPress. >.<

I've had a problem commenting on Blogger blogs when logged into WordPress. I finally figured out that even though the Preview said "Anonymous," it would update to my actual name and link when I posted. Go figure.
