Screenshots & Reactions from MoP Beta

First off, let me point you to a couple of thoughtful posts about druid beta stuff I read this week, because this will not be one of those posts:

No, my post will be about, as the title suggests, random reactions to things I experienced in beta since it stopped crashing every two minutes. With pictures, of course.

Pandaren Starting Zone

Jade Forest

The Arboretum in the Jade Forest

The exact words that came out of my mouth when the above screenshots were taken: “Ooh, that’s pretty!”

Glyph of Stars

Astral Form using Glyph of Stars

Okay, I was all for keeping my moonkin form, but I have to admit these stars are cool. I might change my mind.

Level 85 Mistwalker Monk

Level 85 Mistwalker Monk casting Soothing Mists

Created a premade monk for my husband to play with. Could that guy look any cooler?

Pandaren Rogue

Level 85 premade Pandaren Rogue

Pandaren Rogue about to STAB THINGS…

Pandaren Rogue in the act of STABBING THINGS.

I’m asking for a race change for my rogue when it’s my birthday. I’m not kidding.

Pet Jounral

Pet Journal – Pet Options

Wait, what? I can rename my pets?! Meet Botty, Shivers, and Chili.

Glyph of Stag

Druid Travel Form with Glyph of Stag…and a warlock.

This is both extremely awesome and terribly awkward.

Tree Form Dancing

Celebratory tree form dancing, don’t mind me.

Glyph of the Treant

Tree Form Healing in Temple of the Jade Serpent

Tree Form Healing

Tree Form Healing in Temple of the Jade Serpent…again.

Tree form. Tree form. I’m a TREE. OMG, I MISSED YOU TREE FORM! I missed you so much, don’t you ever leave me again. I’m going to hug you and squeeze you and name you George! I love you, George! /flail. /squee.

Capture Caption

Even among the handful of WoW players with whom I exchange screenshots, there are plenty that are funny, awkward, or interesting. I thought it might be fun to do a weekly write-your-own caption post. I’ll provide the screenshot (or you can send me a screenshot by email) and you provide the caption, either through a Twitter mention (@battlechicken) with the tag #capcaption or by commenting below. I’ll post all of the captions I receive!

Don’t worry, if no one’s interested I’ll phase it out quickly and replace it with a fancy dancing bear!

Speaking of bears, the first screenshot is courtesy my husband and his worgen druid, Lycanthropy:

Can someone please tell me what the heck is going on here?!

Ambermist & Ultraking’s Farewell Tour of Azeroth

Last night as we planned for the impending doom of Azeroth as we know it, my husband and I mounted up and went on a farewell tour, and these are the highlights. They aren’t earthshattering pieces of art (that pun was unintended but I’m leaving it), nor did we base them off of which zones would be getting the most change. For us, this was about years of memories.

Start by clicking on the picture below and then click “Next” to see subsequent pictures in the album.

Ishnu-alah, friends.

Why Do You Do What You Do? and Other News

I came across an interesting website, and I thought it might be cool to take their idea and relate it to WoW, which meant demonstrating the answers to this question: Why do you do what you do…in WoW? Here are some of our answers:

Evolution of a Druid: The Cat’s Meow!

Bah at WordPress for messing with my posts!  Let’s try this again.

I’ve been caught up in ICC & Loremaster, but I’m feeling the itch to go play my tauren druid again. A climbing toddler necessitates a large chunk of my attention today, so to give that itch a little scratch, I’m going to share the most recent photos from my Evolution project.

I hit cat form at level 20, and cat form is the turning point in druid leveling for me. It’s like meh…then hey!

For more screenshots in this series, check out Starting Over and In Many Forms.  To see all my screenshots, check out my album.

A little note for those of you who are more frequent readers: you might notice that the sidebar has lost a significant number of links. Despite the weird issues I’ve had with WP today, this was on purpose. You’ll find these links on a new page, listed under Second Helpings.

Evolution of a Druid: In Many Forms

I admittedly haven’t done a lot of leveling on my new druid since Patch 3.3 came out.  I’ve been splitting my time between the Dungeon Finder and ICC.  But I’ve been able to squeeze in some XP, which, like druids, now comes in lots of different forms.

This week, I did some Warsongs and netted some pretty awesome XP from them.  I also tried out the random lowbie dungeon and dinged 19 halfway through Deadmines.

Here are a couple of screenshots I picked up between 12 and 19.  There’s more in the album if you’re so inclined.
